Sudoku — Classic Number Puzzle (package ID: com.maniarora.sudoku)
Effective date: September 30, 2026
This policy explains what information Sudoku — Classic Number Puzzle ("the app", "we", "our") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The app is developed by an independent developer (contact below), not a company.
To make the game work — difficulty progress, streaks, best times, achievements, unlocked themes, and challenge history — the app stores data locally on your device using standard device storage (Android's app-preferences storage, with a browser-storage fallback in the web build). This data:
The app shows optional rewarded video ads — for example, to unlock an extra hint, an extra mistake allowance, more time in Timed mode, or a fresh attempt at the puzzle you're playing. These are opt-in: an ad only plays if you choose to watch one for a reward. Ads are served through Google AdMob, which may collect and process:
AdMob may use this information to personalize ads based on your interests, unless you've limited ad tracking in your device settings. Google's own privacy policy governs how AdMob handles this data:
You can opt out of personalized advertising, or reset your advertising ID, from your device's settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
A future paid, ad-free subscription tier is planned. Purchases for it will be processed entirely by Google Play Billing — we never see or store your payment details.
The share feature lets you send a puzzle you're playing to someone else, so you can compare times on the same grid. Here's exactly how it works, because it's designed to need nothing from either of you:
Themes, daily and weekly challenges, achievements, and streaks are all driven by the locally stored progress described in Section 2. Themes are earned through play — winning five Legend puzzles unlocks them permanently — and nothing about that progress leaves your device. Daily and weekly challenges are generated on your device from the calendar date, so they involve no personal data.
A future update may add optional push notifications (for example, a daily reminder) using Firebase Cloud Messaging. If enabled, this would use a device-level notification token to deliver the message — it would not require your name, email, or any other personal detail, and it would be something you can turn off in your device's notification settings at any time. This policy will be updated before that feature ships.
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Shows rewarded video ads | Advertising ID, device/technical identifiers, coarse region |
| WhatsApp / Email / Facebook | Lets you send a challenge link, only if you choose to | Handled entirely by that app, per its own policy |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging (planned) | Optional push notifications | Device notification token |
| Google Play Billing (planned) | Processes the optional ad-free subscription | Handled entirely by Google Play — we never receive payment details |
This app is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at the address below and we'll address it.
Because gameplay data lives on your device rather than on a server we control, it's retained for as long as the app remains installed with that data intact, and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. Data AdMob or Firebase process is retained according to Google's own retention practices, described in their policies linked above.
We may update this policy as the app's features change — for example, when push notifications or the ad-free subscription go live. The "Effective date" above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
